Serene
This lamp dims in a slowing cycle to guide users' breathing, helping ease anxiety and draw focus into a calm, meditative state through light.
As the light pulses, the cycle slows with each breath, naturally encouraging longer, deeper inhales and exhales. The use of light as a visual cue helps regulate breathing without the need for conscious effort, making it an effective tool for managing stress and anxiety in a gentle, non-intrusive way.

Defining the User
How can this lamp help soothe users during anxiety attacks?
While the previous lamp is designed for portability and comfort, this lamp is designed to seamlessly blend in the office workplace as an elegant lighting feature that dims in and out once turned on to help users regulate their breathing in a natural manner.

Ideation & Development
This lamp was constructed by carefully designing a geometric pattern made of mylar that was pieced together with the help of a unique tab design. This design wraps around the 3d printed housing without the use of any adhesive materials. This interesting pattern creates a meditative effect by diffusing lighting discreetly in the professional workspace.

User Interactions
Defining interaction points to make the design seamless

Users can interact with Serene by pressing the button as displayed.
Upon doing so, the lamp turns on and begins dimming and brightening in a cyclic movement. To turn the lamp off, a similar motion has to be had. This simple interaction is intentional and allows users to quickly ease themselves when stressed without having to go through an extraneous and long process to find some peace and relief.
